Tampere Engineers Association ry briefly
Tampere Engineers Association ry (TI) is an advocacy group for engineers and senior salaried employees, operating in the Pirkanmaa region, excluding the Valkeakoski economic area. TI is the second-largest regional association of the Akava-affiliated Union of Professional Engineers in Finland, with about 5,400 members.
Tampere Engineers Association ry is the oldest member association of the Union of Professional Engineers, and the union is considered to have been founded at the same time as Tampere Engineers Association ry in April 1919.
The key areas of activity for Tampere Engineers are labor market activities, member activities including member benefits, and communication. TI organizes events, strives for community spirit, and communicates current issues. We monitor our members’ interests, advise on work-life matters, and have a local impact. TI continuously collaborates with both the Union of Professional Engineers and its member organizations. The union educates, informs, and supports its member organizations. The activities of the member organizations remain stable, thanks in part to board training, monitoring the union’s activities, and support from the union. TI keeps the union up-to-date on current local issues, organizes events in cooperation with the union, and acts as a link between members and the union. Additionally, TI has voting rights at the Union of Professional Engineers’ Representative Assemblies. These meetings address issues such as the union’s budget, rules, current work-life matters, and lobbying efforts.
